One of the beautiful aspects of Tai Chi Chih is that it can effortless fit into even the busiest schedules. It can also be done almost anywhere, requiring little space and no special equipment.
A practice can be short, consisting of only a few movements, or longer, consisting of all the movements. It is not necessary for the student to do the entire complement of 19 movements and 1 pose to get the benefits of Tai Chi Chih. Any amount of Tai Chi Chih can be beneficial to the student
A short practice consists of a sampling of 4-5 movements. Some students do only three repetitions on each side while others do 6 or 9 repetitions. Even one movement done throughout the day can provide a quiet respite and promote calm and mindfulness.
A full practice includes all 19 movements and 1 pose. When these movements are done slowly and for 9 repetitions on each side, the practice can take about 45 minutes or longer.
A daily and consistent practice is recommended. However, any time spend practicing Tai Chi Chih during the week is worthwhile.
